Remembering dreams means being in touch with the inner you, and listening to what the timeless part of your mind needs you to know.

  • Listen to this program in a quiet place. Stop it when you need to.
  • As I guide you through the program, listen and feel what I a saying so you can understand how your mind works.

The introduction section below this welcome greeting has 5 sections. You don’t have to listen to them all at once, but you should listen to them in order. If you need to, listen to the introduction one or more times until you feel you are ready.

  • The programs introduction has 5 audio sections to help you better understand about what dreams, why we dream, and why we want to remember them.

Let’s begin .. It’s time to start DreamTalking.

1. Recommendations before you begin…

2. Write the questions and answers in a Notebook or Personal Journal

You will use these document throughout this course for activities, personal reflections, dream symbology, questions & answers. Hint: hand-written Q&As will give you the best results (learn why soon),

2. Write about how you FEEL

No matter how strange it seems, ALL dream componentes have context, meaning and reason. How it feels is the MOST important thing of all. For example, if you see a “Mountain” and it feels “happy” then write it down. There is always a meaning in feelings which is why the mind is dreaming it, and showing it to you!

Recommended items and course suggestions so you can get the best results from this course…

  • Something to write on. This should be a notepad and pen. When we write with a pen or pencil we engage the brain in ways typing and touching a screen do not. However, use of a phone, tablet, computer or other device can still be used.
  • Before you sleep. It is also highly recommended to write in a journal or diary before going to sleep; this allows you to sort your feelings and empty your mind of thoughts from the day. Just as in the Dream Talking program, working with yourself often creates a greater connection inwardly and can enhance dream clarity.
  • A Personal Journal or Notepad. The activities in this course are best completed when hand-written. If possible, record on your preferred written format. If you are not able to write or journal you can make notes on your digital device just as easily.
  • Note 1: It is strongly recommended to turn off as many distractions as possible when completing this program, such as music or television (and even your phone if you are not using it to read the course notes).
  • Note 2: It is strongly recommended to avoid using all device or screen technology at least 30 mins before going to bed. This allows your brain to relax and prepare for sleep.

Download or View

  • This PDF contains space for journalling, recording dreams and also activity sheets for later parts of this course

  • You can still use your own journal (this is just to make it easier if you don’t have one)

  • You can view the PDF activity sheets on-screen or you can print them out

Introduction Part 1 – What is a Dream?

What is a dream? A dream is a message. A dream is an opportunity to gain insight into your life – your feelings, your past, your future. Dreams have been with has for as long as we have been alive. Our minds talking to us from the world of sleep where deeper parts of us live within the timeless spaces of our thoughts, memories and other dimensions of ourselves.

Some dreams tell of what was, some tell of what will be. All dreams tell what is honest and true, depending on our perception and our choices. Dreams are the passageway to vast knowledge, important detail and a heightened sense of awareness about ‘you’. Most of all, dreams are a pathway to your inner self that will allow you to become One with who you really are.

Dreams occur as your subconscious mind processes and sorts your daily life. Organising what isn’t required. Processing your experiences based on who you choose to be, what you feel and how you see the world and yourself.

Much of your daily experiences are stored in your deeper consciousness. The experiences that need to be understood in more detail by you, are transformed into the language of dreams. Dreams are a living, subjective reality that can seem to last for hours or days in the dream state, but will pass through your sleeping mind within minutes. You see, your mind is a truly amazing thing. Not your brain – your mind. Your brain is the facilitator of the experience between your mind and your waking conscious self. So when we speak of dreams, we are talking about your mind. Because ‘the mind’ is where dreams are born.

A dream is your subconscious and inner mind communicating with you. Telling you what is going on with ‘you’. Reminding you how you feel, and what your experiences and feelings from your waking state actually mean to you.

A dream can be a reconciliation with your day and your life. Dreams are always – always – aligned to show how you truly feel and what you inwardly believe. Because your subconscious only knows the truth. It has no preferences, and it cannot lie. It just wants the best for you. It is a part of your mind that talks in pictures, images, feelings and moods, symbols, context and storylines. It uses every single last item in your thoughts and memory as ‘props’ to write and conduct a stage play for you every night – in fact many times every night – to tell you, well, all about ‘you’.

Dreams are always on your side. Dreams are always your best friends, because your subconscious only wants the best for you. It wants you to be so aware of your true potential, and to let go of any uncertainty, unsureness, remorse and fear. As you dream of things that happen in your every day waking state, you are looking at feelings and responses you need to understand.

Sometimes dreams are amazing, and sometimes they can be not-so-amazing. But if something is going on that you need to know about .. you can trust your dreams to help. Your subconscious and your deeper mind will generate dreams that will help you survive and thrive by being aware of what you hold inside, and what you can choose to do about it.

Introduction Part 2 – Remembering Dreams

We all have dreams, every night. Over the many years I have worked with dream interpretation, many people have said to me – “I just don’t dream”. The fact is – they do dream, they just don’t remember. Their mind is distracted or closed to the point whereby they simply have not yet created a clear passage to their inner or subconscious mind.

The best way to think about dream recall is to imagine a small pond of water, connected to a much larger lake. This pond is your subconscious of ‘you’, and the lake is the vastness of all memory and all time. Your dreams are like messages written on the bottom of the pond. If the waters are obscured with distractions or unsureness, or churning with too much activity and stress, you will never see what amazing things are written there for you to know.

Whether you remember a dream or not depends mostly on three things:

1. The first is when your brain and mind are not working together in unison as well as they should – this usually comes down to being too busy with daily thoughts or feeling on overload because of stress, or being distracted and not taking time-out for you

2. The second reason is when you have just got so used to not knowing about your dreams, it becomes almost like an instruction to your subconscious that you are just not that much into remembering them. And whilst you still dream, your subconscious sends more and more into the deeper storage areas of your mind. And so that is why we want to remember our dreams! All those wonderful and precious feelings – just think of all the ways we can improve your life when you know what is going on. I just love dreams

3. The third reason is when there is environmental interference that can disturb the clear communication between your brain and mind activity. This is usually when your energy field may have become contaminated with thoughts and imagery that are not of your making. But don’t be too concerned though, as we have a program here in the Meditations section help you with that as well. It is a wonderful program called “Taking Care of Your Energy System” written and guided by Diane. So, if at any time you feel as though this might be what you are experiencing, help is on hand. There is an easy way to refresh and revitalise your energy system, and this program is expertly designed to help you do just that. I will leave the details for it at the end of this program for you

So, back to dreams …

How long do we dream, and how often?

On average, you dream for a couple of hours every night, and you can have any number of dreams. Your mind is a deep and amazing place.  Don’t believe the science that says we only dream a few dreams every night. Personally, I remember on average of between 6 and 10 dreams every night. I have recalled more than 90 dreams in one night before, so anything is possible. The more you remember, the more you are receptive, and the more you can recall. I want you to know that simply because of how much hidden information we can tap into by remembering our dreams. The insight is profound. Everyone can remember dreams, and even if we remember just 1 or 2, it can make the difference between knowing something important, or not knowing at all.

3. Dreams are Timeless

Introduction Part 3 – Dreams are Timeless

Dreams are very often prophetic because your subconscious is not bound by time at all. The deeper parts of ‘you’ are in touch with your past as well as your future. If we are open enough, our deeper mind will often show us something to help us make a decision for the better. As I said, the subconscious is your best friend – because it is a deeper part of you.

Prophecy is an amazing part of dreams that will help you be aware and forewarned so you can make decisions that lead you into the best life and the best future you can have.

So why else do you want to remember your dreams? Simply, to know yourself more than you do. To gain valuable insight into your life. To be healthy in your mind and emotionally aware of how you feel at all times. To be so much more aware of what is happening in your life will help you at times when you may want or need to know which way to go.

Dreams are therefore timeless, just like your subconscious. That is why dreams of the distant past seem to real because they are just as vivid in your memory as yesterday.  That is also why dreams often have people, circumstances, events or symbols from your past. If any experience or event happening to you in your ‘now’ is in any way still connected to your past, it is all important as far as your subconscious is concerned.

Your ‘now’ is a result of your past, and your ‘now’ needs to know about it.  So, everything matters – your past, present and your future.

That is, once again, why dreams are so important when it comes to inner awareness. You cannot be at One with who you really are unless you bring your past, present and future into One point in the Now, ready for a new future.

So dreams are a wonderful way to both understand and experience. Current opportunities or re-occurring situations from your past, even cyclic events or premonitions of your future … knowledge about them all is contained within your deeper mind. Knowing what your mind wants to tell you is the ultimate way to take control of your life.

4. Your Mind is the Dreamer

Introduction Part 4 – Your mind is the Dreamer

So let’s talk about about your brain. As I inferred at the beginning, our brains are wonderful parts of us, but they are only the interface for your physical self. Your mind exists in your entire energy field and flows throughout your entire body. Your brain is no more your mind than a prism is the light that shines through it. That is the difference.

We are energy, and your mind is your energy identification. Your brain and your body is, of course, very essential to life and we need to take care of it so we can live in balance and harmony.

This is where I will briefly talk about ‘brain states’. To understand altered states of consciousness – which is, after all, what dreaming is – we have to understand what this means.

  • Everything is energy, and your brain is no different. Your biological self is just a lower frequency form of the energy of ‘you’
  • Your brain operates through the day at a frequency range of between approximately 13 to 30 cps. This frequency range is called ‘Beta’. The busier and more stressed we get, the faster our brains run. Beta is great for life, but not so great for remembering dreams
  • The frequency rate of your brain, when it is so busy, is like a lens that contracts under the strain, and therefore allows less and less light in to your conscious mind. But we want more light to see down into your pond through still waters, so we need to relax your brain into a more open and calm state as well
  • When you are relaxed, your brain settle into a natural frequency rhythm of between around 8 to 12 cps. This is called an Alpha state – you may have heard of it. This is where dream recall begins, and where most people are at when they read, socialise, write, create, relax or are inspired
  • When we are in a deep meditative state, or just on the border of sleep, we enter what is called the Theta state of between 4 and 8 cps – a wonderful place where vivid imagery, lucid dreaming and a powerful window of access exists to your subconscious mind

When you use your brain to go to work, spend time on a computer, drive a car, perform daily calculations and functions and go about your everyday business of life, your beta state will remain largely constant but can fluctuate into alpha at times – perhaps you remember daydreaming every now and then? Yes, that’s an alpha state you have momentarily entered. A lot of great ideas come from there! Amazing, isn’t it?

At night, however, when your natural circadian rhythm wants you to begin to slow down your brain patterns and prepare for sleep, the modern world often has us still on computers or watching television. These aren’t bad things at all, in fact very necessary and wonderful in a lot of ways…

So I would encourage you to do just 1 thing for me .. and for you. Just for the duration of this program, to get the most out of it, in order to allow your brain to find its own natural state and to keep your brain frequency from being affected by the frequencies our TVs and screen devices create, for the last hour before you go to sleep .. perhaps read a book. Write. Talk to someone.. do something else other than look into a bright screen .. just for that last hour.

Your mind, and your brain, will thank you for it.

5. Let the Dreams in

Introduction Part 5 – Let the Dreams in

Finally, and very importantly, your dreams are also a channel for messages via your subconscious from your inner self, from your deeper mind.

Like your subconscious, your inner self always tells us something genuine and important about how you feel through your dreams. How you are going in your life, and on the bigger journey through your life. This is a precious thing, because we also all have higher and deeper parts of ourselves that know a lot more than we do.

Our deepest self, from the deepest level of us, wants us to grow. Become more aware. Wake up to our potential. Your dreams are a doorway also for your inner and higher self to help you reach your goals and show you New things you may never have dreamed of … pun intended.

So let’s open up the window to your dreams and let the light in! You will be so glad you did. Dreams are filled with prophecy, truth, insight and so many ‘aha!’ moments. To open up a channel of communication with your subconscious is very exciting and very beneficial for your mind, your body, your energy system and even your health.

You will be so glad you did.
